What are some really good and fun cooperation board games?
What are some really fun board games where players work together to reach their goals, but are not competition oriented? Also, what is the objective of it?
I have heard of Lord of the Rings, and Pandemic.
Thanks in advance!

There’s a board game called “Castle Panic”, and the players play as an archer, and different types of knight, and maybe a mage (I haven’t played it in a long time, so I forgot all the roles)
The objective of the board game is to cooperate to prevent monsters from trying to destroy your castle while arriving in hordes. I believe you can upgrade your castle and your characters have skills.
You could try some games by “Cranium.” A lot of their games involve doing things in a group, and although there are teams, the players on the teams have to work together in order to win. Plus, the activities are always fun and silly! Great game, Best of luck,
Violet
If you haven’t yet played Pandemic play that, it’s fantastic.
From the same designer as Pandemic comes one of my favorite new games: Forbidden Island.
In Forbidden Island players are working together to rescue treasures from a sinking island. As you play pieces of the board sink under water and can be completely removed from play making them inaccessible and possibly causing the game to end. There’s a lot of ways for the game to end, and only through careful teamwork can you actually figure out a way to collect the treasures and get off the island alive. It’s SO much fun, I can’t wait until I get to play it again. I hope I can play it again soon. Also at $15 it’s a good price for a great game.
I do not know at which level the players are at, so I will make two suggestions.
If you have more experienced board gamers, I would try Ghost Stories. The game is difficult to beat. You are all working together so that the ghosts do not destroy you. The theme is based upon Chinese folklore and the art is wonderful.
If you have less experienced gamers or younger players, I would suggest the new game, Forbidden Island by Gamewright. This is a fun, less complex cooperative game made by the same designer as Pandemic, with similar game play. Great art and pieces. You work together to retrieve artifacts on a sinking island. You can pick up this game for $11 online. If you are more experienced though, I would just play pandemic, especially with the expansion. The expansion really makes Pandemic shine.
Happy Gaming!
there’s a game called settlers of Catan.
It’s not very competitive, but there is a winner and a loser.
It’s about making villages around hexagontal peicces. Each piece has a different resource, and it costs resources to make more villages and roads to connect them, and a few other things. It’s about trying to have the most villages. In the original, you can’t attack, but you can block peoples villages paths and not trade with them. There is an expansion that allows you to attack and whatnot, but I haven’t played that. It might not be what you are looking for, but it’s a good game.
Cooperative board games are a rare breed. They can be very fun though if everyone is willing to work together. Lord of the Rings is an OK cooperative game. Pandemic is one of the best, i recommend that one hands down.
You should also try Shadows Over Camelot (where each player is one of the knights of the round table trying to save Camelot from the forces of evil) and Space Alert (where players work together to explore space for a timed period without getting their ship destroyed). Both are really great once you know how to play properly.

Settlers of Catan is definitely a competitive game, because there is only one winner. Same with Cranium, one team wins and the rest lose.
Great question!!!
If you like Pandemic, you might like Forbidden Island. It’s basically the same game, but simplified to make it easier to teach to non-gamers.
Other great co-op games are:
Shadows Over Camelot – My fave. Players work to accomplish several quests, but the catch is that one of them MAY be a traitor.
Battlestar Galactica – Another co-op game with a traitor. I thought it was too long, but it’s still pretty popular.
Space Alert – You play the game with an audio CD that plays the voice of the ship’s computer telling you what parts of your ship are being threatened. You must react in real-time to win. A very fun and very chaotic game.
Red November – A group of gnomes must try to keep their submarine from sinking. No kidding. Decent game.
Ghost Stories – Great 4-player co-op game. Much more difficult to win than any of the other games on this list. Combat can be a little random.
You can learn about all of these games at boardgamegeek.com
Have Fun!
Good cooperative games actually depend on the company and not the game itself. However, my suggestion would be “Fury of Dracula” – it is not entirely coop: one of the players is Dracula, trying to hide his trail and setting up various traps; the other players (up to 4) are Hunters, such as Van Helsing, who collect items and weapons, trying to find Count Dracula and defeat him in an epic battle.
The game is not only theme-heavy and immense fun, it also looks drop-dead gorgeous
Other good coops feature:
-Ghost Stories. Players feature taoist monks trying to save a village from different types of ghosts.
- Red November. Players feature gnomes on a sinking submarine who try to save the pile of steel from a wet grave. Extremely fun when playing with the right type of people.
