Texas Hold ‘Em is most common now. You can do a search. There are so may variations on poker it is hard to answer your question. Mexican spit is the frustrating. I like 7-card stud for home poker games.

All the card games can be challenging if you are inexperienced. The games with the highest rewards potential are the onese where you play against other players, such as the various poker games. If you are up against good players, your odds of winning are very slim. The games where you play against the house are much easier, and the odds of learning the ropes much quicker. These games include Blackjack, Pai Gow and others. There, the trick is to learn which are bad bets and which are better. The odds are still, clearly, with the house, but with a little skill and luck, you have a better chance of walking away with some money. Beware of gimmicky side bets.

Blackjack provides one of the best games offered by Casinos. If you play the game smart without any crazy, irrational moves, the house advantage runs about 0.5 percent. Speed is also an advantage to the game. Blackjack, like Poker, is not really a game of chance. Craps and slots are games of chance. You roll the dice and you have no say as how they are going to roll. You pull the virtual handle on an electronic slot machine and hope for the best. Blackjack, on the other hand, involves skill and moves based on cards played and cards still in the deck. If you have a face card and a ten card, you stand, no matter what the dealer is showing because that’s as close to 21 or Blackjack as you’re likely to get. Only a fool would ask for a hit. This is a simple example, but it illustrates that you can influence the outcome of the game based on your observations and math skills.

There are many places online and books written where you can find Basic Strategy tables and charts that tell you when to stand, hit, double, or split based on the dealer’s hand. These tables and charts give you a definite edge during play, but the most important part and probably the most difficult is memorizing the charts themselves. You can have them printed out, but if you have to refer to them and take time scanning them, you may time out your play or miss out on the advantages of speed play. The charts and tables will serve you better than the so-called card counting, which most of the time will not apply as the decks are shuffled after each hand.

Don’t waste your money on Insurance when playing Blackjack. This raises the house edge from anywhere between 6 and 8 percent.

Poker is found in almost all casinos at this point. It is fairly easy to learn and Texas Hold ‘Em is the most popular form.

The best card games for gambling are the above-mentioned poker and blackjack as well. The 2 other best games for the player are bacarrat and craps.

The most challenging and hard to play is craps. The are many bets on the table which often confuse people. But if you can learn the basics along with a good strategy, then it becomes one of the best games as well.
